Case Study Information

Construction Challenge
Working in partnership with Newark & Sherwood Homes, Connaught, NEBA and Groundwork, a construction awareness event was held at Dukeries College in New Ollerton for year 9 pupils from the college and from nearby Newark High School.
The event, which was covered by the Newark Advertiser, gave an excellent insight into the career options available within the construction industry and gave pupils the opportunity to sample trades such as tiling, joinery and plumbing. Pupils were provided with PPE and were given basic health and safety awareness through games, quizzes and the chance to win a high street voucher by designing a health and safety poster.
Certificates of achievement were awarded to all participants and good feedback was gained with 31 out of 38 pupils saying they would definitely consider a career in construction.
Case Studies
Lone Worker and Tenant Protection
Everyone associated with this contract is required to “Sign in and out” every day.
Special Needs
During the consultation process of one of our projects in the East Midlands, we identified an elderly tenant, whose son has learning difficulties. Through discussion it became apparent that any change to his normal daily routine was likely to make him very nervous and stressed, leading to extreme mood-swings and aggressive behaviour.
Home Win for Hawtonville Junior School
Hawtonville Junior School entered Bullock’s competition last summer to find a school football team to sponsor and came a very close second to the winners, Willows Primary School in Grimsby.
