Wakefield and District Homes, Wakefield Homebuilder Programme
Partnering with WDH, Groundwork Wakefield, Keepmoat and Mears, Bullock have been actively involved in the Wakefield Homebuilder Programme to support the training and employment needs within the Wakefield district.
The Wakefield Homebuilder Programme offers a structured, comprehensive training model for the long term unemployed. Lead by a dedicated team of trainers and mentors, it allows participants the chance to gain new skills within the construction industry. Working in partnership with contractors, it offers local
people the opportunity of employment as apprentices, working towards an NVQ level 2 qualification.
An event has been held to celebrate the success of the first year of the Homebuilder Programme, which has achieved 100% success rate of the original 60% target, making the programme one of the most successful in the country.
Bullock have employed 8 Apprentices who are all working towards their Maintenance Operative NVQ level 2 qualification at Wakefield College. In addition we currently have 2 potential Apprentices on a four week work placement; Aftab Hussain and Ibraar Hussain.
