Halton Housing Trust Recruitment Open Day
Working in partnership with Halton People into Jobs, Halton Housing Trust and the other partnering contractors, we jointly held a recruitment open day to give local people and sub contractors the opportunity to become part of the construction partnership.
The open day provided everyone within the area the opportunity to apply for employment as part of the construction partnership and the regeneration of Halton.
The event was organised in less than three weeks, which meant that good communication between the groups was essential for it to be a success.
Posters were produced by our in house graphics department and were distributed locally including Job Centre Plus, Halton Lea Shopping Centre, Community Centres and Colleges.
Adverts were placed on the local radio station Wire FM, which ran over a 7-day period. Responses were handled by Halton People into Jobs.
The day was split into two halves. The first half of the day involved the partnership carrying out interviews with candidates that had been hand picked by Halton People into Jobs.
The second half of the day was an open session. This allowed members of the local community and potential supply chain partners the opportunity to talk to everyone involved in the partnership and take part in a brief interview if they wanted to pursue their interest.
In total the day attracted 300 people. Every contractor and Halton Housing Trust were able to employ staff for the project from the local area.
Local vacancies were filled in carpentry, plumbing, plastering management, multi-skillers and tenant liaison.

Off-site pre-assembly has been used to achieve completion of over forty bathrooms per week using only three CORGI registered plumbers.
